Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle, alternative hands-on treatment that focuses on the bones, membranes, cerebrospinal fluid, and connective tissues surrounding the brain and spinal cord. Using a light touch, practitioners assess and support the natural movement of the system, helping to release restrictions that may contribute to pain, tension, or nervous system dysfunction.

The craniosacral system plays an important role in protecting and supporting the central nervous system. When restrictions develop due to physical injury, chronic stress, illness, surgery, or emotional trauma, the body may compensate in ways that contribute to discomfort or reduced function. Craniosacral Therapy aims to restore balance within this system, allowing the body to function more efficiently and utilize its own natural healing abilities.

One of the primary benefits of Craniosacral Therapy is its ability to support nervous system regulation. Gentle treatment encourages the body to shift from a heightened "fight or flight" response into a more restorative parasympathetic state, where healing, recovery, and relaxation can occur more easily.

Many people find Craniosacral Therapy helpful for headaches and migraines, TMJ dysfunction, neck and back pain, stress and anxiety, sleep disturbances, post-concussion symptoms, chronic pain conditions, nervous system dysregulation, and recovery from physical or emotional trauma. Because of its gentle nature, it is also appropriate for individuals who may not tolerate deeper manual therapies.

While the techniques used are subtle, the effects can be profound. Many patients report feeling deeply relaxed, more grounded, and experiencing a greater sense of ease within their bodies following treatment. Craniosacral Therapy is often used on its own or alongside massage therapy and other healthcare treatments as part of a comprehensive approach to health and well-being.
